Snowgum started as a dream of three mates, dispersed across the globe. Their common ground was a love of the outdoors, adventure and mateship – and a small rural block in the magnificent Kiewa Valley. This provided the perfect place for juniper berries to grow and for inspiration to flourish.

In 2019, the dream became a reality and Snowgum Distillery was born. Jurgen our master distiller, brings with him his incredible knowledge and has sourced quality European stills.

Our vision is simple – QUALITY WITHOUT COMPROMISE.

Our mission is to create high-quality spirits and liqueurs, which are unique in flavour and based upon native Australian botanicals.

Joe leads the sales area of the business. Joe has a history of working in wineries and is passionate about selling high-quality goods to customers. Joe also started distilling at a young age with his cousin John & his Uncle Angelo. Joe loves to travel and that is where he met Jurgen some 20 years ago in Germany.

Co-Founder of the business, John leads the business operations. John’s involvement in distilling started at a very young age – helping his father, Angelo (a first-generation Italian immigrant) make his “Grappa” in his homemade still in the garage. John is passionate about producing high-quality products and improving on back yard learnings.

Jurgen started his career in the distilling, flavour and fragrance industry, completing an apprenticeship in Germany in 1990 as a Distiller. Working for world-leading flavour companies he has got the diploma as a Master Distiller and Instructor, 1998. Emigrating to Australia in 2007, Jurgen brings in immense experience to the company and is truly passionate to create and produce the finest products.
